Heather Garnica is an experienced educator currently serving as a 6th Grade Teacher at Santa Monica Boulevard Community Charter since August 2024, while also teaching 2nd and 3rd grades at Crete Academy Charter School since January 2024. Prior to these roles, Heather worked as a Fourth Grade Teacher and Instructional Assistant at Bright Star Schools from November 2020 to December 2023. Additional experience includes teaching at Francis Parker School as an Academic Resource Center Teacher and supporting third grade at The Museum School as an Assisting Teacher/Substitute Teacher. Heather completed student teaching placements at Isaac Sheppard Elementary School with third graders and West Branch Elementary School with kindergarten students. An education internship at San Diego Zoo Global provided further engagement in teaching. Heather holds a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education and Teaching from Penn State University, earned in 2017, and a high school diploma from Poway High School, completed in 2012.
