Dave OBrien has had a varied and extensive career in the media industry. Dave began their career in 2005 as a Documentary Director at Eyethink, where they directed the award-winning feature documentary, Equality U. Dave then moved to Clearwater Street Productions as a Producer/Director in 2005. From 2008 to 2009, they were the Head of Video Content at Causecast, and during this time they also worked as a Freelance Producer at Deliberate Content. From 2009 to 2012, they were an Associate Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California, and a Lecturer at California State University, Long Beach. In 2011, they were a Producer at Filmatics, LLC, and in 2015 they were a Producer at The Happys, LLC and AC Transformative Media. Since 2018, they have been the SVP - Head of Product, Head of Product & Creator Education, Senior Creative Producer, and Producer at CreatorUp.

Dave OBrien holds an MFA in Cinema/Television Production from the University of Southern California and a BA in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dave also has two additional certifications, Section4 Certified Product Fundamentals from Section4 obtained in October 2021 and Amazon Advertising Foundations Certification from Amazon obtained in November 2022.
