John Kim is the Founder and Managing Partner of Brewer Lane Ventures, an early-stage fintech venture capital firm based in Boston, MA, a position held since July 2019. Kim serves on the Board of Directors for Franklin Templeton and as a Member of the Board of Trustees for Eversource Energy, both roles begun in 2021 and 2018, respectively. Previous leadership experience includes serving on the Board of Directors for Fiserv from July 2015 to August 2019 and as President and Chief Investment Officer at New York Life Insurance Company from April 2008 to December 2018, where significant responsibility for investment management was undertaken. Prior to that, Kim led CIGNA Retirement and Investment Services as President until the integration with Prudential Financial in 2007. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Connecticut.
