Derek leads the Ag investing team of Leaps by Bayer, which has a broad mandate to create, invest in, and collaborate with breakthrough companies solving fundamental challenges in health and agriculture. Derek has been investing in Ag technologies for over a decade and has served on the boards of companies in multiple areas spanning biologicals, crop protection, and digital farming technologies. He was also a co-founder of Agrimetis. He received a PhD in Chemistry from Harvard and did his undergraduate studies at Stanford University.
