Kian Jones has a diverse range of work experience. In 2019, they worked as a Software Engineer at Environment and Climate Change Canada, where they focused on data analytics projects and developed an Android app. In 2020, they worked as a Site Reliability Engineer at CENGN, where they maintained and evolved data centers, built a logging pipeline, and integrated new features into the container platform. They also became a Certified Cloud System Specialist during a technical bootcamp. Later in 2020, Kian worked as a DevOps Engineer at Nokia. In 2021, they joined Facebook as a DevOps Engineer and played a role in building CI tooling for testing mobile devices and base stations. In 2022, Kian worked as a DevOps Engineer at Meta until December. In 2023, they joined Covariant as a Site Reliability Engineer.

Kian Jones attended Brookfield H.S. from 2013 to 2017, although no degree or field of study was specified. From 2017 to 2022, they then pursued dual degrees in the field of technology. Kian earned a Bachelor of Information Technology, Co-op with a specialization in Network Technology from Carleton University, and an Ontario College Advanced Diploma in Advanced Technology from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology. Additionally, Kian acquired several certifications, including DELF B2 from Centre international d'études pédagogiques (CIEP) in December 2016, Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA Routing and Switching) from Cisco in February 2020, CENGN Cloud System Specialist Certification from CENGN in January 2020, and Nokia Network Routing Specialist I (NRS) from Nokia in October 2020.
