Tom Mortiboy

Software Engineer at Coursebase

Tom Mortiboy has over 16 years of work experience in various roles in the technology industry. Tom has extensive experience as a consultant and solutions architect, specializing in software engineering and development.

In their most recent role, Tom is the Co-Founder of the Niseko Area Mountain Bike Association (NAMTBA) since August 2021.

Prior to this, they worked as a Software Engineer at Coursebase, Inc. from October 2020, where they were responsible for developing and implementing software solutions.

From 2015 to 2020, Tom worked at SEEK as a Consultant Senior Developer. Tom played a key role in the development and maintenance of highly scalable and secure solutions. Tom also had experience in DevOps and utilized various technologies and tools such as F#, Haskell, Purescript, Scala, CloudFormation, Docker, Serverless, and Buildkite.

Before SEEK, Tom worked at Matter Digital as a Consulting Technical Architect and Lead Software Engineer from January 2013 to April 2015. Here, they led and designed projects for various clients.

From 2012 to 2013, Tom worked at EA Technology as a Consultant Solutions Architect and Software Engineer. Tom created new solutions and migrated existing projects to a new code base, while also mentoring other developers.

Tom began their career in 2005 at LateRooms.com, where they held several roles including Solutions Architect, Senior Software Engineer, and Assistant Release Manager. Tom played an instrumental role in rewriting the call center web application and managing a small development team.

Throughout their career, Tom has consistently demonstrated their proficiency in programming languages such as C#, C++, and PHP, as well as various frameworks and tools including NHibernate, StructureMap, MVC, and the Razor view engine. Tom has also utilized agile development methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.

Tom Mortiboy attended The University of Manchester from 2002 to 2005, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree with a focus on Artificial Intelligence. In June 2009, they obtained the Microsoft Course 2310 & 4995 Tailored certification from Microsoft.
