Kristie Silva serves as the Assistant Controller for the County of San Mateo, where responsibilities include overseeing operations for the Property Tax and Special Accounting and Internal Audit divisions since January 2008. Previously, Kristie held the role of Deputy Controller, managing payroll and controller information systems for a county serving over 700,000 residents, and was instrumental in the transition to a cloud-based Workday payroll system. Kristie's earlier roles include Financial Services Manager, where oversight of bi-weekly payroll processing and IRS filings were key responsibilities, and Internal Auditor & Interim Administrative Services Manager, focusing on budget monitoring and performance reporting. Prior experiences include a position as Staff Auditor at Mohler, Nixon & Williams and as a Business Owner/General Manager at The Candle House. Kristie holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Accounting from San Jose State University and an Associate of Arts in General Education from the College of San Mateo.
