Mike Moate has held various positions in the tech industry since 2003. Mike began their career as Deputy President (Finance & Services) at Imperial College Union, where they were responsible for commercial services delivery to a customer base of over 14,000 people. In 2004, they joined Symbian as a Software Engineer, where they worked on Symbian OS file server and file-systems development, as well as device driver development for a variety of storage technologies. In 2006, they took on a Software Engineer role at Access Devices Digital Limited, where they worked on device driver, file-system and user interface development for Freeview, Cable and IPTV set-top boxes. Mike then returned to Symbian as a Software Engineer, where they were responsible for porting Symbian OS to new hardware platforms based on the ARM Cortex A8 processor. In 2009, they joined Nokia as a Team Leader for Debug & Trace and a Senior Engineer for Kernel. In 2011, they moved to Accenture as an Associate Manager for Mobility Solutions, where they delivered projects utilizing mobile technology and provided technical leadership for onshore and offshore development teams. In 2013, they became Head of Platform at Oliver Wyman Labs, where they led the team building and maintaining Oliver Wyman Labs' analytics platform and hosting infrastructure. In 2017, they co-founded Countingup, where they currently serve as the Chief Technology Officer.
Mike Moate completed a BEng (Hons) in Computing at Imperial College London from 2000 to 2003. Prior to that, they attended The Sixth Form College Farnborough from 1998 to 2000, where they studied Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Computing.
