Sebastian Horstmann serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Cosysense, focusing on energy savings and user comfort for commercial spaces through sensor and machine learning technologies. As a Freeman of the City of London with previous experience as a Senior Embedded Machine Learning Engineer at InferSens, Sebastian has contributed to advanced deep learning applications in low-powered sensors. In previous roles, Sebastian led a team as the Continental Lead for Global Engineering Futures and conducted research at the University of Cambridge on a distributed fertigation sensor system. Engagement in community-driven projects is highlighted through co-founding open-seneca, which developed air quality sensor networks in multiple cities. Sebastian holds a PhD in Engineering and various degrees from the University of Cambridge and the University of D¨¹sseldorf.
