Mo Kamyab has worked in the oil and gas industry since 2009. In 2009, they worked as a Drilling Designer and Algorithm and Software Developer at Aghajari Data Processing Company (ADPC). From 2011 to 2014, they were a PhD Researcher in Petroleum Engineering at Curtin University, where they studied the Coiled Tubing technology from oil industry to mineral exploration. In 2012, they worked as a Drilling Eng. Researcher and Software Developer at Australian Mud Company (AMC), where they developed equations and algorithms related to drilling fluid properties, wellbore hydraulics and cuttings transport. From 2014 to present, they have been a Sr Technical Lead - R&D, Technical Lead - R&D, and Sr Drilling Researcher and Software Developer - R&D at Corva. At Corva, they developed a drilling package with more than 40,000 lines of code that receives the WITSML data, process them and send the results back to the web UI, as well as a Soft String Torque and Drag module with buckling and stress analysis, friction factor calibration and viscous drag. Mo also designed an intelligent Weight Estimator Algorithm (with PSO) to find the accurate weights of the drill string components.
Mo Kamyab obtained a B.Sc. in Drilling and Production from the Petroleum University of Technology between 2003 and 2007. Mo then obtained an M.Sc. in Drilling and Production from the same institution between 2007 and 2010. In 2008 and 2009, they obtained an M.Eng. in Master of Petroleum Well Engineering from Curtin University. In 2011 and 2014, they obtained a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from Curtin University. Additionally, in 2012, they obtained an Advanced Level certification from the AMC Oil & Gas Drilling Fluids School.
