HongJie Zhang has over 17 years of work experience. In 2022, they began working as a Technical Support Engineer at Cornelis Networks. In 2021, they started working as a Data Engineer at big data projects bootcamp, where they built a recommendation system for designed users using item-based collaborative filtering with millions of data. HongJie deployed Spark on a distributed cloud service (AWS), generated movie similarity data powered by S3, and recommended the movies based on given movie name, similarity threshold, comments count threshold of users. HongJie also realized fast batch processing and system scalability by auto-scaling up and down (EMR). From 2004 to 2021, they worked at China National Petroleum Corporation as a Technical Project Manager, Team Lead, and Software Develop Engineer. As a Technical Project Manager, they delivered projects including Software &Web application Development, Solution feasibility study, Software & database & hardware upgrade and migration, System disaster recovery, and Enterprise-wide promotion and implementation. As a Team Lead, they led an operation team composed of system administrators, software developers, and support engineers. HongJie also trained and mentored the team members in terms of their job performance, behaviors and competencies. As a Software Develop Engineer, they designed and developed CNPC Hotel reservation website with c# and SQL Server, Vehicle management and dispatch system using Java and Oracle, and website of State Council Counselor’s Office with c# and SQL Server.

HongJie Zhang began their educational career at Xi'an Shiyou University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from 1997 to 2001. HongJie then continued their studies at the same university, graduating with a Master of Computer Applications in 2004. In 2010, they obtained a PMP certification from PMI. In 2018, they began a Data Science Path program at Codecademy. In 2020, they obtained an Advanced Google Analytics certification from the Google Analytics Academy, as well as a Customer Service/Business Certificate Program from Las Positas College. HongJie is currently enrolled in a Distributed back-end project class at shanganonline and a Small Business Management Certificate Program at Las Positas College.
