Derek Miller

Director Of Partnerships at Corfix

Derek Miller has extensive experience in various roles within the hockey and sports industry. Derek started their career in 2006 as a Professional Hockey Player in the Central Hockey League. From there, they went on to work as a Head Hockey Instructor for the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club and Capital Sports Management, and as an Assistant Coach for the Carleton University Varsity Women's Hockey team. In 2009, they joined the Scottish Ice Hockey(SIHL) as the Head Coach and Head Development Coach, where they mentored coaches and implemented player development programs. Derek also worked as a Lead Instructor for Planet Hockey and as a Skills & Performance Coach for the Carleton University CIS Men's Hockey Club. In 2017, they became the Director of Player Development & Performance for the OTTAWA 67s HOCKEY CLUB, responsible for building a skill development program. Derek's most recent role is with Next Generation HKY & FIT Inc., where they served as the CEO & Director of Business Development and Chairman of the Board. Currently, they are the Director of Partnerships at Corfix, where they focus on helping construction companies simplify business operations and create a more productive environment.

Derek Miller earned a B.A in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in the years 2002-2006. Derek also obtained a Diploma from Neepawa Area Collegiate Institute from 1994 to 1999. Derek has additional certifications in Basic Auditing Principles, COR Essentials, COR Internal Auditor, Intro to Hazard & Risk Management, High 5 Sport, NCCP - Developing Athletic Abilities, and High Performance 1.
