Jamie Yuen has a diverse work experience starting from 2007 to present. Jamie co-founded Copperstone Technologies Ltd. in 2014 and served as Chief Engineer, overseeing day-to-day operations and leading hardware and software design and testing. Jamie also worked as an M.Sc. Student at the University of Alberta from 2010 to 2014, conducting research on Unmanned Aircraft Systems for industrial environmental monitoring. During this time, Jamie developed a UAS equipped with various sensors and wrote post-processing software. Jamie also gained experience as an Engineering Intern at BMI Technologies in 2013, where they contributed to the design and testing of an embeddable equipment monitoring device. In the same year, Jamie also interned at ING Robotic Aviation, where they designed and built a stabilized camera mount for a rotorcraft UAV. Prior to these experiences, Jamie worked as a Student Engineer at GSS Geothermal in 2009, where they sized heat pumps and designed a solar thermal - geothermal hybrid system. Jamie also has mechanical experience as a Mechanic at Autoservice Wagner in 2008. Additionally, Jamie gained engineering experience as a Student Engineer at Halliburton in 2007, where they worked on the design and testing of downhole, rotary-steerable oil tools.
Jamie Yuen obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta, where they studied from 2005 to 2010. They further pursued their education at the same institution and completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Mechanical Engineering from 2010 to 2014. In November 2017, Jamie received the certification of Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) from The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
