Efrain Andres Guirola Diaz is an experienced healthcare professional with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh. Since 2020, Efrain has served in various roles at UPMC, including Patient Care Technician and Patient Care Assistant, where responsibilities included taking medical histories, vital signs, and patient education. Efrain has also worked as a Spanish Healthcare Interpreter for several organizations, including Akorbi and Catholic Charities, providing essential language support in medical settings. Additional experience includes interpreting for refugees and immigrants at JFCS Pittsburgh and serving as a Healthcare Liaison at Casa San Jose. Efrain has contributed to research at the Rehabilitation Neural Engineering Laboratory, presenting findings at conferences and assisting in teaching Spanish medical conversations.
