Alexandra Birnbach is an accomplished library professional with extensive experience in community library management and reference services. Currently serving as Community Library Manager at Contra Costa County Library since January 2020, Alexandra oversees daily operations and supervises a team of library staff while actively engaging with the community. Previous roles include Acting Senior Community Library Manager, where Alexandra developed new programs and built strong partnerships with local organizations. Prior experience includes nearly twelve years at Mill Valley Public Library in various positions, including Reference Librarian and Interim Senior Reference Librarian, where Alexandra focused on staffing, collection development, and patron services. Alexandra holds a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from Simmons University and a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Knox College.
