Vijay Yeldandi has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Vijay began their career as an Associate Director of Clinical Research at Abbott in 1999. Vijay later served as the Chief Medical Officer and Program Director of Internal Medicine at Vanguard Westlake Hospital. From 2007, they became the Founding Director of GYD Diagnostics and Reference Laboratories Pvt Ltd, where they focused on providing high-quality diagnostic treatment and support. In 2012, they joined the University of Illinois at Chicago as a Clinical Professor of Medicine and Surgery and also served as the Director of Transplant Infectious Diseases. Vijay was a Faculty member at the Public Health Foundation of India and later became the Head of Infectious Diseases and Public Health at SHARE INDIA. In 2020, they founded the Suvarna Swasthya Research Centre, a specialized infectious diseases research laboratory. Currently, they work as the Director of Inflammatory Disorders, Infectious Diseases, and Infection Prevention and Control at Continental Hospitals Hyderabad. In 2023, they are set to assume the role of Vice President of Medical Education and Professional Development at Continental Hospitals.
Vijay Yeldandi completed their medical education at Gandhi Medical College in Hyderabad, India, where they obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medicine from 1975 to 1980. Vijay then pursued further specialization in Infectious Diseases by completing a fellowship at Loyola University Chicago from 1986 to 1988. Additionally, they obtained certifications in various areas, including healthcare quality and safety, data science of healthcare, and leadership development from renowned institutions such as the Harvard Kennedy School and LinkedIn. Vijay also holds board certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
