LD Lewis has a comprehensive work history in engineering roles. They started at LTV Missles and Electronics Group in 1983 as a Lead Design Engineer before moving to Superior Industries as an Engineering Supervisor in 1989. In 1992, LD Lewis joined Loral - Vought Systems as an Engineering Specialist for product design. They then returned to Superior Industries and held various roles, including Sr. Engineering Manager, Director of Engineering Services, and finally, Corporate Director of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. In 2015, LD Lewis joined Consolidated Metco as the Director of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, where they were responsible for the concept, design, and development of automated and manual manufacturing processes. In 2017, they became the Director of Enterprise Asset Management before returning to their previous role in 2020.

LD Lewis has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
