Liam Torpy currently serves as the Manager for the Fire Grand Challenge at Conservation X Labs, overseeing the implementation of an open innovation initiative focused on reducing destructive fires in Western North America, the Amazon, and Indonesia. Previous roles include Senior Program Director at the Himalayan Climate & Science Institute, where support for climate science and adaptation in Nepal was provided, and various positions at organizations such as The Nature Conservancy, Georgia Water Coalition, and Trees Atlanta, all emphasizing environmental advocacy and education. Liam’s research experience includes analyzing wildlife hormone levels at Lincoln Park Zoo and conducting independent conservation studies at the University of Chicago. An alumnus of the University of Chicago with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, Liam has cultivated a diverse background in environmental management and research.
