Betty Brown Bibbins

Betty Bibbins was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2018. She is a retired health care management professional with administrative and teaching careers in both clinical and business environments. Bibbins is the vice-president of the Board of Directors for the Eastern Shore Rural

Health System, Inc. and previously was a member of the Advisory Board of American College of Physician Advisors.

Bibbins was founder, CEO, and executive physician educator of DocuComp® LLC, a health care consulting educational organization providing in-patient record clinical documentation (CDI) services. It also offers continuing education and educational support for the certification in CDI to physicians, nurses, case managers, coders, and CDI specialists.

Majoring in zoology, Bibbins received her B.A. from Connecticut College in 1973 and went on to earn a B.S. in nursing, with the highest honors, from Hampton University in 1977. In 1982, she received a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Eastern Virginia Medical School and then proceeded to complete an internship and residency as Chief Resident / Assistant Instructor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas in 1986.
