Nic Sandfield has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries.

Nic currently works at Congenica as a Senior Engineer since October 2019.

Prior to that, they were associated with Ebuyer.com for a significant period starting from December 2006 to October 2019. At Ebuyer.com, they worked as a Senior Analyst & DPO from February 2018 to October 2019, as a Senior Analyst from July 2015 to February 2018, and as a Database Analyst from December 2006 to June 2015.

Before joining Ebuyer.com, they worked at Larig IFE as a Tactical Manager from April 2004 to December 2009. As a part-time role, they co-managed investment strategy and implemented tactical/strategic software.

Their earliest work experience was at Diagonal Solutions, where they worked as a Senior Technical Consultant from January 2000 to October 2006. In this role, they served as a consultant, team leader, project manager, and architect on various projects, encompassing workflow, e-commerce, B2B, and intranet, utilizing technologies such as WebLogic, BizTalk, SharePoint, and Wisdom.

Nic Sandfield completed their BSc (Hons) in Computing Science, Maths, Physics, Italian, and French at the University of Glasgow from 1988 to 1992. They then pursued a PhD in Computational Science at the University of St Andrews from 1992 to 1995. Following this, Nic completed a Post-doc in Computer Science at the University of York from 1995 to 1998. In 2003, they attended the University of Leeds to study Spanish, although no degree is specified. Additionally, Nic obtained certifications in Getting and Cleaning Data, R Programming, and The Data Scientist's Toolbox from Coursera in December 2014 and September 2014 respectively.
