Faculty Program Developer, Medical Laboratory Science at Conestoga College

Greg Hardy, EdD has a diverse range of work experience in the field of education and healthcare. Greg is currently working at Conestoga College as a Faculty/Program Developer for the Medical Laboratory Science program, where they are involved in developing the curriculum and conducting research to improve program delivery. Greg also holds the position of Part-Time Professor at the same institution.

Prior to their current position, Hardy worked at the College of the North Atlantic, where they served as a Faculty/Program Developer for the School of Health Sciences and as a Faculty/Clinical Lead for the Medical Laboratory Science programs. In these roles, they were responsible for curriculum development, conducting research, ensuring compliance with standards, and coordinating clinical placements for students.

Hardy has also worked as a Sessional Lecturer at Memorial University of Newfoundland and as a Sessional Instructor at Nova Scotia Community College. In addition, they have had experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist at Central Health and as a Laboratory Technologist at Western Health.

Furthermore, Hardy has engaged in self-employment, specifically in the area of publications, where they co-authored an article in 2022. Greg Hardy, EdD has an extensive and varied education history. Greg obtained their Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in 2020 from the University of Calgary, specializing in Educational Research with a focus on Adult Learning. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Post Secondary Studies from Memorial University of Newfoundland from 2011 to 2013.

Before pursuing their Master's degree, Greg earned a Bachelor of Education (BEd) in Post Secondary Education from Memorial University of Newfoundland between 2009 and 2011. Their earlier educational background includes a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Health Science Technology from Memorial University of Newfoundland, which they completed from 2001 to 2009. Additionally, they obtained a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science from the College of the North Atlantic during the period of 2005 to 2007.

In terms of certifications, Greg holds various qualifications related to their previous profession as a Medical Laboratory Technologist. Greg obtained certifications as a Medical Laboratory Technologist from the College Of Medical Laboratory Technologists Of Ontario, the Nova Scotia College of Medical Laboratory Technologists, and the Newfoundland and Labrador Council of Health Professionals in 2021, recognizing their expertise in the field. Greg also holds a General MLT Certification from the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science, which they acquired in 2007.

Furthermore, Greg pursued professional development in the field of education and obtained a Post-Secondary Instructor Certification from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador in 2010. These certifications demonstrate their commitment to continuous learning and professional advancement in both the healthcare and education sectors.
