Preston Hammock serves as president of The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital and senior vice president of Cone Health. Hammock manages the hospital’s day-to-day operations. He was promoted to this role in 2019.
Hammock joined Alamance Regional Medical Center in 2006 and served in various senior leadership roles becoming hospital president in 2013.
Hammock holds a master’s degree in health care administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Benjamin Rodin Scholar, and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Duke University.
Hammock is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and recipient of the group’s 2013 Regent Award. Hammock is a graduate of the Academy GE Fellow's Program. He is the 2019 recipient of the Alamance County Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Award. Hammock was named to Business Leader magazine's Movers and Shakers list. He was named to the Business Journal's 40 Leaders Under 40 list in 2009.
Hammock serves on the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He is on the President's Advisory Council at Elon University and is a board member for the South Atlantic Healthcare Alliance.
