Rich is the executive chairman of the board of Summary Analytics, an artificial intelligence software company, and is an advisor and CEO coach to a number of other start-up companies. Rich retired as a general partner with Foundation Capital at the end of 2015 after 11 years at the firm. Prior to Foundation, Rich spent more than 20 years in networking and communications , amassing a combination of start-up entrepreneurial as well as large company intrapreneurial experience . Most recently, he was president and CEO of Atheros Communications (now part of Qualcomm), which he helped build into the leading provider of Wi-Fi wireless semiconductors; it was subsequently named "Silicon Valley's Fastest Growing Private Company" by the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal and PricewaterhouseCoopers for the 2001-2003 period. In 2003, Rich received Frost & Sullivan's prestigious "Wireless LAN CEO of the Year" award.
