Ashley Strosnider has a diverse work experience in the fields of editorial, publishing, and marketing. Starting in 2008, they worked as a Public Relations and Events Coordinator for Joseph-Beth Booksellers, where they planned and executed author events and maintained relationships with publishers. In 2009, they became an English Instructor at the University of South Carolina, teaching various courses and serving as Editor of the Yemassee Journal. From 2011 to 2012, they worked as an Editorial and Marketing Intern at Milkweed Editions, where they read and reported on manuscript submissions and copy edited projects. Ashley then served as a Freelance Proofreader at The History Press USA, proofreading book interiors and enforcing design and editorial standards. From 2012 to 2014, they worked at Amazon as a Content Media Coordinator and Editor, optimizing user experience, coordinating with authors, and driving training and process improvements. Ashley also freelanced as a Reviewer for Publishers Weekly during this time. From 2014 to 2020, they were a Managing Editor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the Prairie Schooner journal, overseeing production, marketing, and budgeting. In 2020, they joined Compose.ly as the Head of Editorial, where they manage an editorial team, implements editorial strategy, and ensures content quality. Throughout their career, they have also worked as a Freelance Editor for Turner Publishing Company and as a self-employed Publishing Consultant, collaborating with various clients on editorial and marketing projects.
Ashley Strosnider completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Belmont University from 2004 to 2008. Ashley pursued further education and obtained a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from the University of South Carolina from 2009 to 2012. In addition to their academic achievements, Ashley has obtained several certifications, including the HubSpot Inbound Sales Certified and Hubspot Inbound Marketing Certified from HubSpot in February 2020. Ashley also received the Google Ads Search Certification from Google in February 2020, as well as the Twitter Flight School Video Badge from Twitter in the same month.
