JD Voyek, also known as Jessica Davis, is an accomplished science communicator and scriptwriter with extensive experience in various science media projects. Currently serving as a SciShow Script Editor and freelance scriptwriter for Complexly, JD has contributed to educational content on SciShow and SciShow Space since June 2017. Previous roles include science writer and exhibit manager for the New Zealand International Science Festival, where JD focused on climate change education. Other notable experiences include serving as a technical consultant for the TV series Pandora, scriptwriting for a space exploration documentary with WildBear Entertainment, and engaging festival attendants as a science communicator at the Edinburgh International Science Festival. JD holds a PhD in Science Communication from the University of Otago, a Master’s degree from the University of Edinburgh, and a Bachelor of Science in Astrophysics from Caltech.
