Derrick Bowles is a principal analyst in the Advocacy Division of the Competition Commission South Africa, specializing in competition policy since September 2020. Previously, Derrick held a senior analyst role in the Market Conduct Division, leading investigations into Abuse of Dominance and Exemptions. Derrick has experience as an associate in the Antitrust & Competition Practice Group at Baker McKenzie South Africa, as well as a senior case manager at the Competition Tribunal of South Africa. Derrick's legal career began as an attorney at Friedland Hart Solomon & Nicolson and as a candidate attorney at Fairbridges Attorneys. Derrick holds a Bachelor of Commerce and LLB from the University of Pretoria, and has pursued further studies in competition economics and digital markets at notable institutions.
