Karen Smith currently serves as the Vice President of Environment of Care Quality at CommWell Health, a position held since June 2022. With extensive experience at CommWell Health since 2013, Karen has also fulfilled roles as Vice President/Chief of Quality and Director of Quality Education & Performance Improvement, focusing on enhancing efficiency, patient safety, and compliance with accreditation standards. Prior experience includes serving as Vice President/Chief of Quality at Tri-County Community Health Council, Inc., where responsibilities encompassed overseeing various health management services and budget management. Academically, Karen holds a Masters of Education in Community Nutrition from UNC-Greensboro and a Bachelor of Science in Foods & Nutrition from Western Carolina University.
