Betty Li Simpson is a seasoned professional in research and evaluation, currently serving as a Senior Specialist at the Communities In Schools National Office since May 2016. Throughout a progressive career at the organization, positions have included Specialist, Senior Associate, and Research Assistant. Prior experience includes a role as a Student Intervention Tutor and Substitute Teacher at Charlottesville City Schools from August 2015 to May 2016, and as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Virginia, where research focused on science pedagogy under Professor Frackson Mumba. Betty Li Simpson holds a Master’s Degree in Teaching - Secondary Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Religious Studies, both from the University of Virginia, and is a graduate of Ocean Lakes High School.
