Zane Grissett is an experienced R&D Test Engineer at Commonwealth Fusion Systems, focusing on HTS magnet testing, mechanical design, large test stand commissioning, and technical project management since March 2024. Previously, Zane worked as a Hardware Test Engineer at X, the moonshot factory, from January 2022 to March 2024, where prototyping and testing robotics were key responsibilities. Earlier roles included Operations Specialist at Ample, managing EV battery swapping stations and fixing robotics issues, and Soil Technician at Middle Earth Geo Testing Inc., conducting subsurface sensor deployments. Zane also contributed as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Rhode Island, maintaining a long-term beach erosion study and participating in various marine research projects, as well as an Undergraduate Researcher in the Graduate School of Oceanography, exploring geological changes related to climate and meteorite impacts. Zane holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Geological Oceanography from the University of Rhode Island.
