Susan Sachs has amassed more than 35 years of executive media experience in magazine, books, and the internet. As a media consultant in the 90s she advised start-up internet companies on financing strategies and business plans. Joining Common Sense in 2004 as the founding COO and returning for a stint as President in 2010, she has served on the board since 2007. Ms. Sachs’ previous tenure was at Time Warner building a career in publishing that spanned a broad array of book and magazine experiences. She held various financial positions, including stints in Amsterdam and London. But the bulk of her Time Warner career was spent in the magazine division, where she held a variety of financial and advertising roles at Time, Money, and as Publisher of Sports Illustrated for Kids, and International Publisher of Fortune.
Ms. Sachs is a graduate of Lehigh University and Columbia University Graduate School of Business. She also serves as an officer on the board of Reveal, Center for Investigative Reporting.
