CommentSold moved into direct-to-consumer commerce via the acquisition of assets of Popshoplive, a community-driven livestream shopping marketplace app at the intersection of social, e-commerce and entertainment. In 2022, CommentSold debuted its lightweight video commerce plugin technology, Videeo, which gives any retailer or brand the ability to embed and go live with engaging, branded live video commerce experiences within days by easily integrating into an existing e-commerce stack.

About the role

CommentSold, America’s #1 live selling SaaS platform is looking for a Partnerships Manager to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the e-commerce, video commerce, or social commerce ecosystem and possess a proven track record of successfully establishing and managing strategic partnerships from inception to execution. This person will report to Jo Wong, SVP of Sales and Operations. The role is remote with travel as required.

Main Responsibilities 

  • Partnership Development: Identify, evaluate, and prioritize potential strategic partners within the e-commerce, video commerce, and social commerce space. This includes the ability to evaluate partnership requests and opportunities effectively.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders at partner organizations to drive collaboration and mutual success. This involves attending industry events, networking, and making deep connections within the ecosystem.
  • Deal Negotiation: Lead negotiations with potential partners to establish mutually beneficial agreements and terms. This includes leveraging existing relationships and industry knowledge to drive successful outcomes.
  • Contract Management: Oversee the drafting, review, and execution of partnership agreements, ensuring alignment with company objectives and legal requirements. This involves working closely with legal teams to ensure contracts are comprehensive.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Legal, to coordinate partnership activities and ensure seamless integration of partner solutions 
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify new partnership opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Performance Tracking: Develop and implement metrics to track the effectiveness of partnerships, regularly assessing performance against predefined KPIs and objectives. 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in strategic partnership management, preferably within the e-commerce, video commerce, or social commerce industry.
  • Strong understanding of the e-commerce ecosystem, including key players, trends, and technologies. Understanding of the Shopify ecosystem is a must.
  • Proven track record of successfully negotiating and closing partnership deals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical solutions to diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market dynamics and identify growth opportunities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to travel and attend industry events to make deep connections and relationships.
  • Ability to evaluate and prioritize partnerships and partnership requests.

Compensation
The base salary for this role is expected to be in the $95,000 - $120,000 range. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
