Joe Wertz is an accomplished journalist and educator with extensive experience in environmental reporting and media. Currently serving as the Climate and Environment Editor for Colorado Public Radio since October 2020, Joe also holds a position as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Central Oklahoma since January 2019. Previous roles include Senior Environment Reporter at the Center for Public Integrity and Senior Reporter and Editor at StateImpact Oklahoma. Joe started in journalism as a staff reporter at The Oklahoman, covering crime and breaking news, and has held various editorial positions, including Arts & Entertainment Editor at the Oklahoma Gazette and News Correspondent/Show Host at 105.3 The Spy. Joe earned a Bachelor's degree in Communications/Journalism from the University of Central Oklahoma.
