Cleo earned her CPA, CA with PwC in1988. She has held leadership roles in various healthcare and privately owned companies, including being CFO of Canada's largest home care service provider, with 6,000 employees and 35 locations, and CEO of Canada's largest ophthalmology practice.

Previously, Cleo served on the board of the YWCA of Peterborough.
