Birgit Van Diest is a highly experienced technology leader with extensive background in software engineering and project management. Currently serving as Senior Director of Software Engineering at Collibra since December 2022, Birgit leads a team of over 70 engineers, overseeing the delivery of key data management solutions including Data Catalog, Data Lineage, and Knowledge Graph components. Prior to this role, Birgit spent over 24 years at SWIFT, holding various leadership positions such as Engineering Lead for Customer Interactions and Global Head of Program, Project & Portfolio Management. Birgit's earlier career includes roles at Proximus as a Senior Information Technology Auditor and at Smals as an Information Security Consultant. Educational qualifications include multiple Master’s degrees in Information Technology, Safety Engineering, and Physics from prestigious institutions including Vrije Universiteit Brussel and KU Leuven.
