Ruben Kihuen is an accomplished public affairs professional with extensive experience in government relations and community advocacy. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Government Affairs at the College of Southern Nevada since March 2024, Kihuen previously held the position of Director of Government and Community Relations at Cano Health, a leading provider of primary medical care focused on underserved communities. Prior to that, Kihuen was the Director of External Affairs and an instructor at the Immigrant Home Foundation, contributing to the support of low-income Nevadans. Kihuen's legislative experience includes serving in the United States Congress representing Nevada's 4th Congressional District and a decade in the Nevada State Legislature, where Kihuen held the roles of Senator and Assemblyman. Kihuen earned a Master of Public Administration from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas in 2020 and a Bachelor of Science in Education from the same institution in 2004.
