Iain Anderson has a strong background in the rail and construction industries. Iain began their career at Barhale Construction, where they served as the Head of Proposals and later as the Rail Business Manager & Director. During their time at Barhale, they played a key role in transforming the rail business into a primary contracting entity and securing lucrative contracts with Network Rail. Additionally, they were responsible for overseeing all bids and tenders submitted by Barhale Construction in various market sectors.
Later, Anderson took on executive roles at Colas Rail UK, where they served as the Executive Development Director and the Head of Tendering & Business Development. In these positions, they focused on identifying new business opportunities, developing tendering strategies, and maximizing revenue and profit growth for the company.
Anderson also has experience serving as a Director for UKTram and High-Speed Rail Industry Leaders. At UKTram, they served as a Director, and at High-Speed Rail Industry Leaders, they held the role of Director for a period of two years. Through these roles, they contributed to the promotion and development of the respective organizations.
Iain Anderson completed their Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Civil Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University between 1985 and 1989. Iain also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with Distinction from The Open University from 2003 to 2006. Additionally, they obtained the I Eng MICE degree from the Institution of Civil Engineers starting in 2000.
