Sumanth Sukumar is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in engineering leadership across several prominent companies. Currently serving as Vice President of Engineering at Coinbase since January 2022, Sumanth previously held key roles such as Sr Director of Engineering and Head of Uber Infrastructure, where the focus was on developing seamless infrastructure for transportation. Prior to that, Sumanth led the Traffic Engineering team at Facebook, overseeing critical software systems for the company's Content Delivery Network and networking stacks. Sumanth also contributed significantly at Riverbed Technology as Vice President of Engineering, managing a large geo-distributed team and driving application acceleration products with substantial revenue impact. Earlier in the career, Sumanth was instrumental in the early development of WAN optimization products at Riverbed and worked on distributed file systems at IBM Pittsburgh Labs. Education includes a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering from the College of Engineering Guindy and a Master of Science in Computer Science from Washington State University.
