Dr. Suhas Bhandare has a diverse work experience in the field of optical engineering, spanning over two decades. Dr. Suhas is currently working at Coherent Inc. as a Senior Principal Engineer, focusing on the development of Coherent ITTRA/IC-TROSA modules for fiber optic communication systems. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Staff Engineer at II-VI Incorporated and Finisar Corporation, where they worked on various optical engineering projects. Dr. Suhas also gained valuable experience as a Senior Optics Engineer at Finisar Corporation and as a Sr. Optoelectronic Coherent Systems Engineer at Discovery Semiconductors, Inc. Additionally, Dr. Bhandare has a strong academic background, having worked as a Senior Researcher at Universität Paderborn - Paderborn University and as a Project Associate at SAMEER (R&D of DIT, Govt of India).

Dr. Suhas Bhandare completed a professional certificate course in Silicon Photonics: Design, Fabrication, and Data Analysis from UBC Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2016. Dr. Suhas also obtained a post-doctoral research position in Coherent Optical Transmission Systems and Novel Modulation Formats from Paderborn University between 2004 and 2007. Prior to that, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering from Paderborn University from 1999 to 2003. Dr. Suhas also holds a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University from 1996 to 1999 and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the same university from 1993 to 1995. In addition, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University from 1990 to 1993. Dr. Bhandare also holds a professional certificate for Silicon Photonics Design, Fabrication, and Data Analysis from edX, obtained in 2016.
