Dr. Shrank began his career as a practicing physician with Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. From 2011 to 2013, Dr. Shrank served as Director, Research and Rapid-Cycle Evaluation Group, for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, part of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). From 2013 to 2016, Dr. Shrank was Senior Vice President, Chief Scientific Officer, and Chief Medical Officer of Provider Innovation at CVS Health.
Prior to joining Humana, Dr. Shrank served as Chief Medical Officer, Insurance Services Division at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).
Dr. Shrank received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, He received a master of science degree in health services from the University of California, Los Angeles and a bachelor’s degree from Brown University.
