Irem Ergun has a diverse work experience in the field of machine learning and software engineering. From January 2023 onwards, they are working as a Machine Learning Engineer at Cohere. Prior to that, they worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Riverside from September 2018 to December 2022. During this time, they focused on theoretical cryptography research and later shifted to privacy-preserving machine learning. In 2021, they also served as a Global Teaching Fellow at Delta Analytics, where they learned about teaching machine learning and gave a lecture on detecting microaggressions in Turkish using machine learning. Additionally, Irem worked as a Software Engineer at Comodo from October 2017 to March 2018, where they implemented machine learning techniques for malware detection and improved the continuous integration pipeline. Irem also briefly worked as a Software Engineer at OpsGenie in July 2017. Overall, Irem Ergun has acquired valuable skills and knowledge in machine learning, cryptography, software engineering, and pedagogy throughout their career.

- From 2018 to 2022, Irem Ergun attended the University of California, Riverside, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science.

- In 2022, they completed a Nanodegree program in Natural Language Processing from Udacity.

- Starting in 2020 and continuing until 2022, Irem Ergun pursued a Ph.D. candidacy (C.Phil.) in Computer Science at the University of California, Riverside.

- In 2022, they also completed a Nanodegree program in Deep Learning from Udacity.

- From 2013 to 2017, Irem Ergun studied at Bilkent University and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.

- Prior to attending university, from 2009 to 2013, they completed their high school education at Ankara Atatürk Lisesi and received a High School Diploma.
