Derek Gauntlett is an experienced professional in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, currently serving as Associate Director and Manager of CMC at LGC, Biosearch Technologies since September 2017. In this role, Derek has successfully aligned project expectations with clients, expanded laboratory operations, and significantly grown the CMC team. Prior to this, Derek developed an analytical lab at Biosearch Technologies and contributed to the release of oligonucleotide therapeutic products. At BioMarin, Derek optimized cell culture processes, achieving substantial improvements in processing time and productivity. Earlier career experiences include roles at MicroMed Laboratories and Humboldt State University, focusing on quality control microbiology and research in cellular biology, respectively. Derek holds an MBA from Sonoma State University and a degree in Cellular/Molecular Biology from Humboldt State University.
