Alva Lo currently serves in Compliance Risk Management at Coast Capital Savings, a position held since June 2024. Prior roles include Product Regulatory and Compliance at Central 1 from November 2022 to June 2024, and Enterprise Compliance Management at Vancity from September 2019 to November 2022. Alva also has experience in Financial Crime Risk Management and Retail Banking Wealth Management at HSBC from November 2013 to August 2019. In addition to these roles, Alva contributed to leadership teams for various organizations, including the Steppingbridge Teaching Support and Culture Exchange Association and the 2013 CAFP 39th Annual Conference, as well as serving as the Events and Sponsorship Coordinator for the Canadian Association of Foodservice Professionals. Alva began a career in education as an Academic Tutor for the Learning Disabilities Association of BC and a Piano Teacher at the Music Academy. Alva holds an educational background from The University of British Columbia and pursued a Pre-MBA program through Harvard Business School Online.
