Anna Galakhova is currently a PhD student at the Center for Neurogenomics & Cognitive Research (CNCR) since January 2021, having previously served as a Student Research Assistant and Research Intern at the same institution from September 2019 to September 2020. Anna's early experiences include internships at CNCR and a position as a Junior Researcher at the Scientific Center for Childrenā€™s Health of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, focusing on neurobiology and brain development. Prior roles also consist of being a Laboratory Research Assistant at the Vavilov Institute of General Genetics and a Research Intern at Lomonosov Moscow State University, where the undergraduate thesis explored the mechanisms of obestatin's effect on pain sensitivity. Anna holds a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a Bachelor's degree in Physiology from Lomonosov Moscow State University.
