Riya Bhattacharjee is an accomplished journalist and editor with extensive experience in digital news coverage and team management. Currently serving as the Breaking News Editor for CNBC on the West Coast since July 2019, Riya directs breaking news coverage and manages homepage programming for CNBC Digital platforms while collaborating with various newsroom teams. Riya is also a member of the CNBC Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force, advocating for diverse and inclusive coverage. Prior roles include Digital Managing Editor at NBC Bay Area, News Editor and Producer at Microsoft, and communications management at Kaiser Permanente. Riya's educational background includes a Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Point Park University, along with studies in City & Regional Planning at the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor’s degree from Presidency University, Kolkata.
