Brendan Brien is an experienced finance professional currently serving as National Team Lead and Head of Regional Business for Virgin Money since March 2021. In addition, Brendan is an Executive in Residence at Sheffield Hallam University. Previous roles include Regional Manager at Yorkshire Bank, various positions at Clydesdale Bank including Area Manager Commercial, and a brief tenure as Team Leader at the Royal Bank of Scotland where Brendan chaired FCA-related decision panels. Brendan has also held significant roles at Lloyds Banking Group, including Portfolio Director for Acquisition Finance, and at Lloyds TSB Bank plc focusing on Fast Growth business initiatives. Brendan began a career in banking at the Bank of England, overseeing banking supervision during the Asian crisis.
