Emily Ando has a strong background in regulatory relations and compliance. From 2017 to the present, they have worked at CLS Group, where they currently hold the position of Head of Regulatory Relations, Counsel. In this role, they manage the regulatory relationship, examinations, and advises business divisions on engagement strategy. Emily also drafts regulatory filings and oversees remediation efforts. Prior to this, Emily worked at Barclays from 2013 to 2017 in various roles, including Chief of Staff for Global Surveillance & Global Compliance Services Americas. Emily was responsible for developing and executing strategies for global surveillance initiatives using artificial intelligence and machine learning. Emily also conducted reviews of private side and syndicate businesses, recommending actions to enhance controls and implement new processes. Before joining Barclays, Emily worked at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation as an OFAC Compliance Officer and Corporate Banking Compliance from 2011 to 2013. Emily started their career as an Attorney at the Law Offices of Jun Wang from 2009 to 2011.
Emily Ando has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Elliott School of International Affairs - International Economics and Political Systems from The George Washington University. Emily also holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in Law from Suffolk University Law School. In addition, Emily attended Horace Mann School in Riverdale, NY, for their high school education. Emily is also a licensed attorney in New York, having obtained this certification from the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division, First Department.
