Karla Graves has a diverse work experience background. Karla began their career at Lands' End in 2000 as a Press Officer, where they stayed until October 2004. Karla then joined Waitrose in 2006 and held the position of Senior Press Officer until April 2012, after which they were promoted to PR Manager. Karla continued to work at Waitrose until April 2018. In 2018, Karla started working at Clipper Round the World Yacht Race as the Global Communications Manager. In March 2019, they took on the role of Head of Global Communications.

Karla Graves obtained a Bachelor's degree in American Studies with Literature from Staffordshire University. Karla attended the university from 1997 to 2000.
