Alex Paz-Barreiras has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. They began their career as a Field Marketing Representative at Kognitive Marketing in 2012 and then worked as a Project Assistant at TC Media in 2013. In the same year, they also served as a Library Assistant at Leysin American School in Switzerland, where they not only ensured the organization and decorum of the library but also assisted in coaching the school's girls soccer team.
In 2014, Alex worked as a Sales Representative at TELUS and as a Marketing, Communications, and Research Assistant at the University of Waterloo - Games Institute. They then joined Nulogy in 2015 as a JR. Professional Services Consultant, leading and supporting the full end-to-end implementation of software for the co-packing and manufacturing industry during their co-op term.
In 2015, Alex worked as a Non-Profit Student Fundraiser Representative at Ruffalo Noel Levitz, where they raised a significant portion of the total fundraised dollars and excelled in building rapport with alumni. They then moved on to Vidyard in 2016 and took on the role of a Business Development Representative, strategizing how video and video analytics could strengthen marketing and sales strategies for potential customers in the Mid-Market and Enterprise segments.
From 2018 to 2020, Alex worked at Springer-Miller Systems as a Software Trainer for SpaSoft. In this role, they facilitated discovery consultation calls, managed multi-phase projects for large hotel chains, and provided software implementations and training. They also took initiative beyond their role, improving professional services processes, knowledge management, and customer communication.
Most recently, Alex joined Clio - Cloud-Based Legal Technology in 2020. They started as a Customer Onboarding Specialist and then progressed to roles such as Customer Enablement Operations Specialist, Customer Success Operations Specialist, and finally, a Sr. Customer Success Operations Specialist.
Alex Paz-Barreiras attended the University of Waterloo from 2011 to 2016, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. During their time at the university, they pursued a diverse range of subjects, including Arts and Business Honours with a Co-op Designation, Legal Studies Honours, and a minor in Sociology.
In addition to their formal education, Alex has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. They completed the "Introduction to Project Management" course through Coursera in January 2021. In June 2020, they became certified in "Conversational Marketing" by Drift. They also achieved the "Certificate in Hospitality & Tourism Management" from Florida Atlantic University in April 2020. Furthermore, they obtained certifications in "Inbound" and "Inbound Sales" from HubSpot in November 2016.
