Joel Blackie has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Joel began their career at Philips Lighting as a Marketing Communications Assistant on a one-year placement. Joel then moved on to Outdoor and Cycle Concepts Ltd, where they worked as a Studio Trafficker and Production Assistant before being promoted to a Creative Production Manager. At Dyson, Joel served as both a Digital Project Manager and a Scrum Master, overseeing the delivery of digital projects and coaching teams to adopt an agile mindset. In their most recent role at Muddy Boots by TELUS Agriculture, Joel worked as a Scrum Master, empowering software delivery teams and facilitating agile ceremonies. Currently, they are employed at Clinithink as an Agile Delivery Lead and Scrum Master.
Joel Blackie attended Rednock School from 2003 to 2008, where they obtained 10 GCSEs with grades A-C. Joel then went on to Cirencester College from 2008 to 2010, where they pursued A-Levels in English Language, Drama and Theatre Studies, and Graphic Communication. After completing their A-Levels, Joel enrolled at Bournemouth University from 2010 to 2014, where they studied Advertising with Marketing Communications.
In addition to their formal education, Joel has also obtained several certifications. In October 2018, they became a Certified ScrumMaster through Scrum Alliance. Their dedication to professional development continued, and by December 2019, they achieved the status of an Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM). Most recently, in January 2022, Joel obtained the Mental Health Skills for Managers certification from Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England.
