Joshua Danahay

Project Officer at ClimateWorks Australia

Joshua works in the Sustainable Economies team on projects to support government and industry in the transition to net zero emissions. This includes assisting the delivery of projects focused on Renewable Energy Industrial Precincts, a collaborative solution enabling regional industries to reduce emissions while maintaining existing industries and attracting new ones.

Joshua is also assisting with the Climate and Recovery Initiative, set up by Climateworks Centre and the Centre for Policy Development (CPD) which brings together business, government, and community leaders to discuss how climate-aligned measures can assist with pandemic recovery.

Prior to joining Climateworks, Joshua helped deliver educational projects in the renewable energy and electrotechnology industries on behalf of industry bodies and state government departments. He also worked as a consultant on automation projects in the HR and tech spaces for a range of government and industry clients across Australia, New Zealand, the UK and North America. Joshua is particularly interested in how net zero strategies can provide economic co-benefits to countries and communities, and has written on a wide range of topics including stakeholder engagement in large-scale solar farm developments, and policies for decarbonising residential buildings.

Joshua holds a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Commerce (International Business), and a Diploma of Languages majoring in French, from The University of Adelaide. He is completing a Master of Public Policy specialising in sustainability and environment policy from Monash University.
